Bone Density Testing - A bone density exam is used to detect bone loss (osteoporosis). Osteoporosis is responsible for fractures in 1 out of 2 women after the age of 50. This disease can also be found in men. This is a non-invasive exam and requires you to lay flat on your back for a short period of time. The exam takes approximately 10 minutes.
Sleep Studies - A sleep study is a valuable aid in determining if a patient has a very common condition called "Sleep Apnea". This largely under diagnosed condition is responsible for daytime sleepiness and severe fatigue. The test is performed here in our clinic at night time. If you are diagnosed with sleep apnea, you will return for a second night study for a CPAP titration.
Stress Testing - A stress test is performed in our office by Dr. Amir Ghebranious. This test is used to evaluate the function of the heart when put under "exercise stress." You wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes and you are very closely monitored at all times.
Ultrasound/Echo - An ultrasound/echo is a method of taking pictures of the inside of the body or heart with the use of sound waves. Organs such as the gallbladder, liver and kidneys can all be seen. It can also be used to show how well it pumps blood through the arteries and veins of the body. It is non-invasive and does not cause any pain.
EMG - This test is very useful in determining if a patient has pain of numbness due to a nerve condition. It is a two part test consisting of a "Nerve Conduction Study" and a "Electromyography Study." It is not painful, but may be a little uncomfortable.
